These elements or concepts will help you design beautiful templates that are both efficient and eye-friendly. Line
The first and most fundamental feature of the design is the grid. In painting, a canvas is a stroke of a pen or a pencil, but in graphic design, there are two related points. Lines are useful for separating the room and for directing the eye to a certain spot. Consider, for example, how a publication utilises lines to distinguish text, headlines, and side panels.
Lines enclose and contain the template pieces by making outlines. They can be smooth, rugged, persistent, split, dense or small.
Lines can also deliver subliminal signals. For eg, a diagonal line has kinetic energy and motion, whereas a straight line is more orderly and tidy.

Composition
Lines may be used to highlight, to set out specific details in a busy composition, and to attract an attention to a particular region. They may be shaped or framed (more on both of those a bit further down). The eye can also see lines in some places—think houses, tree limbs, a horizon, or a series of train tracks—that give a natural edge or boundaries.
Lines, in graphic design, may be used for a broad variety of purposes: linking text, emphasising words or phrases, shaping patterns, etc. Lines can be longitudinal, horizontal, diagonal, oval, patterned, free-form or strong. They are used as charts to direct the viewer’s eye movements. For eg, if you use trees that stand straight up (vertical), there is no movement felt by the spectator. In the other side, whether you have the trees bending at an angle, this would help the spectator feel a sense of motion and movement.
Form
The three basic forms of shapes are geometrical (circles, squares, triangles, etc.), natural (leaves, mountains, humans, etc.) and abstract (icons, stylizations and graphic representations). They offer volume to the shapes in the pattern. You do not necessarily have to use identical shapes in your design work; alternatively, you should change them up and put them together and make sure that the arrangement of them holds the piece balanced. Even only applying a tiny shape to a blank region can make the piece appear more balanced.
Colour
People subconsciously filter colour in the artwork. Colour is used to generate feelings, identify sense, build graphic excitement and unify branding. Colour is the most effective weapon in the visual design arsenal to create atmosphere, appeal, create excitement, and bring a message across. The Colour Wheel is a wonderful instrument for a graphic design artist, and you can use it frequently to produce a great piece of artwork. Many compositions are discarded through messy, lazy or improper paint choices. Colour is extremely significant, and it can never be an afterthought. In addition to the hue (red and blue), consider the intensity and brightness (or “value”) of each colour. Study the fundamentals of colour theory and make sure that the arrangement has the correct atmosphere, temperature and sound. Texture
Texture is everywhere as we explore the space around us in both sight and contact. Although we do not feel it on blogs and printed pages, textures from the outer world can be put into a composition to offer it life.

Texture refers to the surface of a material where it provides an image of a surface that is not flat or smooth. By utilising texture, we will bring realism and visual appeal to the graphic design. It enhances a sense of feeling, particularly with two-dimensional pictures. In graphic design, texture may take the form of layers or text, lines or curves that can be added in the form of a template or by choosing a printable surface.
Size
The versatility of the graphic design layout focuses heavily on this feature – height. In graphic design, scale is used to convey significance, to attract focus and to generate comparison. People commonly use scale to draw focus to the most significant aspect of the design; usually, a bigger item or shape draws the most eyeballs inside an artwork. In addition, various sizes inside the same graphic design or layout establish an order of domination. So, you need to learn how to use size differences to direct the observer’s eye along the track you want it to follow.
Value
How bright or dark an environment appears in a design is called value. That is everywhere about the blackest of the blacks to the lightest of the whites. If you learn to use values in the right way, it adds tremendous complexity, contrast and focus to the design. Awareness of Value plays a major role whether you choose to convey the illusion of movement or to put one feature into clear focus while another blends into the background.

Space
An integral aspect of a successful graphic design, Space is the space around the design elements used to isolate or group details. You have to understand how to use it correctly to determine value and take the eye to where you like it to go. In design language, white space is named negative space, and is used to bind, divide or optimise the interaction between the design elements. Space may also be easily used to offer the spectator the feeling of depth or multi-dimension.
