Do I Need Adobe Creative Cloud For Photoshop?

With over 22 million customers signed up in the eight years after its debut, Adobe’s Creative Cloud software line has outperformed all the company’s own expectations. Even, there are a number of theories out there that we run across from time to time, or that certain people want to accept… Here, we dispel and refute the top ten most popular misconceptions we’ve encountered – and ideally, even though you already know the truth or use Creative Cloud, you’ll learn something fresh. Join BSG if you want to learn adobe programs like photoshop, InDesign and illustrator through our online graphic design course.

‘Creative Cloud’ implies just cloud computing.

Some argue that the name is deceptive, but the Creative Cloud is a vast range of artistic software and resources centred on the upcoming CC 2021 introduction of desktop devices, including Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premiere Artist, After Effects, Audition, Dreamweaver, Animate, Acrobat, and more – the complete functional versions… You can also get 20-100 gigabytes of online storage space for syncing and exchanging your data, but this is just a small part of the overall image.

I don’t want to be continuously attached to the Internet in order to launch and operate my innovative apps; what happens while I’m flying?

You are not expected to be actively linked to the Internet. When the CC apps are enabled and working on your desktop, you just need to log in online once every four months to revalidate your annual membership. There are also options in effect if you would be offline for a prolonged period of time, such as flying for six months without internet connection… Simply call Customer Support.

If the programmes are running in a window, they can’t be very efficient – attempting to run Photoshop across the web would be incredibly sluggish.

None of the above-mentioned resources have hosted or web-based variants… They are real digital apps that you import and instal directly on your machines to use as standard – they are not online utilities, these are not software as a service (SaaS), and your CC programmes such as Photoshop will continue to function normally.

The payment model for the latest models seems to be more costly than the old perpetual licencing model, but is it worth it?

As the prices of all the different items available in the Creative Cloud are added together, the cumulative amount exceeds US£10,000. The Master Suite has traditionally sold for £2,600 on its own, and that is just a portion of what you get with the much newer CC 2021 release… All ongoing upgrades, as well as free advanced preparation, are included. You will get access to these leading goods for £10-£53 a month for a year, but CC has a lower initial cost than CS6. You can also load and operate the applications on up to two machines (including both PC and Mac).

But I can have the whole new Master Collection and more for £1-2/day and do anything I want with it – sounds too nice to be real, doesn’t it?

There isn’t any catch. It works exactly as described; you can visualise and build without limits using any of the world’s best picture, image, video, audio, graphics, illustration, web, print, tablet, publishing, gaming, animation, production, and design software. As one influential customer recently said, “As someone who has been utilising Creative Cloud for just over five years, I can tell you that this is the greatest service that Adobe has ever provided, and I will never go back to a perpetual licence even if given the opportunity.”

Then Adobe will entice people to the Cloud – and if we are all addicted, they will raise the rates.

For more than a decade, Adobe has sold subscription-based artistic tools, and their rates (inflation-adjusted) have only plummeted, never risen… You have demand curve elasticity – the smaller the monthly average, the more people sign up, the greater the expense is spread out, and so on. In our opinion, it is a virtuous loop, and we assume the cost will continue to decline as the Cloud and its network impact expand… Adobe’s announcement of lower-cost £9.99/month plans is one example. The bottom line is that increasing interest rates to unaffordable amounts will be detrimental. If you’re still concerned, you may still opt to lock down your price ahead of time.

The Creative Cloud is not a free utility

The Creative Cloud is not a free utility

I can’t exchange my files with a buddy, customer, or colleague who isn’t a Creative Cloud member. So I don’t want to post any of my work publicly/on the internet.

If you’re worried about exchanging data with users who are using older versions of the CS tools, consult our CC File Compatibility Guide. It is therefore not essential to use cloud storage. You can easily establish various standards of sharing on whatever data you want to store digitally in Adobe’s Cloud, from holding them completely confidential to sharing them anonymously with everyone at all. Viewers would be able to display thumbnails and wider previews, adjust the layer states of PSD folders, navigate Illustrator artboards, InDesign and PDF websites, and view file metadata all from inside their web browsers [watch video demo here]. However, since saving a backup to the online Cloud storage is totally voluntary, you should hold your data entirely offline on your local disc as normal.

The Creative Cloud is not a free utility

No worries – there is a completely free standard of Creative Cloud membership that has over a hundred fantastic lifetime perks, including free goods and facilities, and that everyone may sign up for… When you cancel a paying subscription, you can have a 90-day grace period after which all online storage will be reduced to the size of 2GB for free (or can buy additional storage separately if you like). You most likely stored the files locally on your device before uploading them online.

Even if I just use one or two apps, I’m stuck with the absolute Innovative Cloud membership, right?
No, this is not right. As with previous suites and point merchandise, you can also purchase the discounted package of all or only a single software if you choose. If you just choose to use one or two tools, you can sign up for a Single-App Membership for a reduced price (£10-20). Adobe, for example, provides a special Photography Plan that includes both Photoshop CC and Lightroom CC (the complete desktop and tablet releases) for £9.99 per month worldwide.
You can’t just sit on or run prior releases in the Cloud if you want to, right? You’re still required to upgrade to the new patch, right? I may not always be available to do so, and certain plug-ins do not even fit for the newest edition.
