What is Adobe Creative Cloud and how does it work?

Adobe Creative Cloud is what most graphic designers tend to use and it is a subscription that allows you users access to the newest releases of all Adobe advanced creative software apps (such as Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and many others) with new functionality and updates as soon as they are available. Creative Cloud is sold as a monthly or yearly membership. The cloud is different to previous versions of Adobe creative suites since the cloud gives users storage and file syncing capabilities. This is especially useful as you can reliably access your files wherever you are, even on your mobile phone, and you can share your end design concepts with teachers’ clients or colleagues more easily than ever.

With Creative Cloud, students who use this Adobe software subscription essential have their entire creative world in one central dashboard where ideas, notifications, desktop applications, files, fonts, settings, and team members are all together.

Adobe Creative Cloud

How do you get Creative Cloud?

First, you download the Adobe Creative Cloud (or CC for short) from the Adobe website to your platform that may be Windows or Mac OS. Next, you simply launch the Creative Cloud software that is used to control your account and use it to load the applications that you choose to use.

Adobe Creative Cloud

You will access the programme you want to use and if you simply download the software from the Creative Cloud app. You may also use it to monitor and distribute your properties contained in Creative Cloud; access Adobe fonts and view your artistic work.

Facts about Adobe Creative Cloud

There is little difference in opinion among industry professionals including us at Blue Sky Graphics that Adobe Creative Cloud for Windows and Mac OS is an excellent platform that Adobe has created to the design market. There are, still, a range of misconceptions from those that fall outside of the graphic design world about Adobe’s cloud offering services. We seek to demystify and get to the facts about CC so you can take true advantage of the useful technology that Adobe has launched.

Myth # 1: "Creative Cloud just looks like cloud computing, which is only a place to access and store files."

Adobe Creative Cloud

As deceptive as the name might be, the Creative Cloud is really a vast set of artistic software and resources developed through the latest CC 2020 update of digital software including After Effects, Audition, Dreamweaver, Animate, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premiere Pro, Acrobat, and more – full-featured editions. As a subscriber you get between 20-100 gigabytes of free cloud space for storage of the files you create but it is not solely a storage software.

Myth # 2: "I do not want to be continuously linked to the Web to launch and operate my innovative apps; what happens when I do not have a link to the Web?

You will not have to be connected to the web on a constant basis to use CC. When CC apps have been enabled and are operating on your screen, online access is only needed once every 4 months for the revalidation of your annual membership. And there are options in effect if you are unavailable for a prolonged period of time – or flying for six months without online access for example by calling their customer service team.

Myth # 3: "The programs will not be really efficient if they are running in a browser — trying to run Photoshop over the network is going to be very sluggish."

None of the devices listed above are online or cloud-based models … they are actual pc apps that you import and install right on your machines, so they function exactly like ordinary – they are not mobile applications, they are not “software as a service” (SaaS) so your CC programs like Photoshop should operate as standard.

Myth # 4: "The payment model for current releases looks like it could be more expensive than the former permanent licensing program, so maybe it is not worth it?

If you sum up the price tags of all the items you will include in the Creative Cloud, the overall amount is worth more than in the region of £8,000. The Master Suite itself has traditionally been priced for £2,000, so it is only half of what you are receiving for the much newer version of CC 2020. Any regular updates are provided, as well as optional advanced instruction.

You can access these leading products for £10-£50 per month, one year at a time, so the upfront cost of CC is far less than CS6. And you can load and run applications on up to two of your computers (including PCs and Macs).

Myth # 5: "So I can have the most current Master Set and more for £1-2 / day, and do something with it — it must be too nice to be real, right? There is no trap here.

It works exactly as described; you can imagine and create without boundaries using all the best tools in the world for photo, image, video, audio, graphics, illustration, web, print, mobile, publishing, gaming, animation, development, and design.
As one prominent customer recently said, “As someone who has been using Creative Cloud for a little over five years now, I can tell you that this is the best service Adobe has ever offered, and I would never switch back to a perpetual license even if I had the option.”

Myth # 6: "Well, then Adobe is going to attract everyone to the cloud — and once we are all hooked, they are going to jack up the price."

Adobe has been selling subscription-based artistic goods for more than a decade, and during that time their rates (inflation-adjusted) have plummeted, never risen … you have the elasticity of the demand curve – the smaller the monthly fee, the more customers sign up, the higher the cost spreads and repeats. It is a virtuous loop in our opinion – and we think the cost should continue to decline as the Cloud and its “network impact” expand.

One example is Adobe’s announcement of lower-priced £9.99 / month plans. It will be counter-productive to lift the bottom line to unaffordable levels. For students and end-users that are concerned, you can still opt to select your price in advance.

Myth # 7: "If my client or customer or relative is not a part of the Creative Cloud, I will not share my data with them." ... or ... "Because I do not want to upload all my research publicly / online."

If you are worried about sharing files with users using older versions of CS software, check out our CC User Compatibility Guide. And there is no need to use cloud storage.

For any data that you want to store electronically in Adobe’s Cloud, you can easily establish various rates of sharing – from holding them entirely confidential or sharing them freely with everyone at all.

Viewers should be able to do other items, such as view thumbnails and wider samples, adjust the layer status of PSD images, move through Illustrator artboards and InDesign and PDF sites, and display all file information from their web browsers [see video demo here]. But you can still hold your data totally offline on your local disk as usual, as saving a copy to online cloud storage is fully optional.

Myth # 8: "The Creative Cloud is not safe (is it?), because if I quit, I am going to risk all my files."

Do not panic – there is a totally free amount of Innovative Cloud membership that offers you about a million great perks (for life) like free goods & services that you can sign up for . If you cancel paying membership, then you can have a 90-day grace period to get your cloud storage down to 2 GB free (or you can buy extra storage separately if you like). You probably also saved your files locally on your computer before you share them online.

Myth # 9: "Even if I only use one or two applications, I have no choice but to buy a full Creative Cloud membership, right?

No, it is untrue. Much as for previous packages and point items, you also have the luxury of purchasing either a reduced package of all or even a specific software if you choose. If you only want to use an individual tool or two, you can sign up for a single-app membership at a lower price (£10-20). For example, Adobe provides a special Photography Package worldwide that gives all the Photoshop CC + Lightroom CC (full desktop and mobile) of £9.99 a month.

Myth # 10: "You will not live on or run previous releases of the Cloud because you did. Need to, you are still compelled to upgrade to the new version?

Creative Cloud allows upgrades accessible to anyone who wishes to use them, but the program manager will not immediately upgrade the software by planning first … you will choose to use the versions you have previously downloaded, and only select whether and when to launch the latest ones, as it is easy and better for you.

On average, the pace of usable updates for each CC device has been every 3-4 months. And IT administrators can use the powerful Admin Console or Packager utility to fully control all aspects of deployment on any group of computers.

How important is Adobe Photoshop in the world of design?

Adobe Creative Cloud

Adobe Photoshop is a picture processing and video retouching software program to be found on Windows or Mac OS machines. With Photoshop if you can imagine it photographically, you can probably almost certainly create it with Photoshop- this is arguably the world’s best imaging and graphic design software created by Adobe. Photoshop gives users the ability to create, enhance or otherwise edit images, artwork, and illustrations. Changing scenery, simulating real-life photography, or constructing an alternative world view is all possible with Adobe Photoshop. This is the most used image processing, image enhancement and retouching applications for a wide variety of image and video file formats.

The resources of Photoshop allow it easy to change both specific photographs and huge quantities of files. There are several Photoshop editions available, including Photoshop CC, Photoshop Elements and Photoshop Lightroom. Adobe Photoshop is accessible on its own as a Photoshop Lightroom application and as part of the wider Creative Cloud package.

Who is Photoshop useful for?

Adobe Photoshop is a vital resource for designers, web designers, visual artists, photographers, and art professionals. It is widely used for importing, retouching, creating image models, application mock-ups, and effects incorporation. Digital or scanned photos may be modified for distribution on the web or in-print.
The website templates can be developed in Photoshop; their prototypes should be completed until the developers switch to the coding level. You can create and export stand-alone graphics for use in other programs.

What’s Photoshop Creative Cloud?

Adobe Creative Cloud

Adobe Photoshop CC is a Creative Cloud edition of Photoshop, accessible via subscription. This is called a qualified variant of the category family of Photoshop. Photoshop CC is used in combination with Photoshop Lightroom or as part of a more robust Creative Cloud package. Photoshop CC is a popular photography program used by artists, site developers, video editors and photographers to alter and manipulate digital photographs. Photoshop is primarily used to create 2D images, but it provides some 3D picture editing capabilities. Photoshop includes an image analysis function and can be used to prepare images for online or in-print use.

What’s Photoshop Elements?

Adobe Photoshop Elements is a software edition of the user family of Photoshop. Photoshop Elements provides all of the advanced features that can be seen in Adobe Photoshop CC, but they are presented with more streamlined solutions built for the entry-level consumer in mind. It is specifically designed for aspiring photographers and professional image hobbyists. Photoshop Elements is built using the same core digital imaging technology as Photoshop CC. The commonly used capabilities of Photoshop Elements include:

  • Manipulate the colour of the image.
  • Images of the crop.
  • The repair of defects, such as dust on the lens or red eyes.
  • Painting an image with a marker or a pencil.
  • Add text to images.
  • Removing people or objects from the image.
  • Organising fast-access photos.

What is Lightroom Photoshop?

Adobe Creative Cloud

Photoshop Lightroom is part of the Photoshop corporation family and is predominantly used by artists for batch production of large amounts of images. Lightroom provides the potential to create and store picture models that can be applied to many images at one time.

This also includes non-destructive imaging tools, such that the initial images remain intact. Lightroom offers the opportunity to modify RAW formats. The light balance and white exposure can be subject to manipulation or adjusted in a RAW file. However, Photoshop Lightroom does not have several attributes or functionality like Adobe Photoshop CC or Adobe Photoshop Components and uses a separate GUI.

Where can you learn Photoshop?

There are a variety of ways that you can practice Adobe Photoshop from being self-teaching methods, books or a one-to-one online course.

Common approaches to learning Photoshop include going to college, but at Blue Sky Graphics we offer one-to-one Photoshop to Birmingham residents as well as those anywhere in the UK. Our meticulous teaching standards mean we offer live online Photoshop classes where learning from interactively is more fun than Photoshop videos, and Photoshop books. Classes are structured to help students benefit from a network of teachers and students in a fun community in a one-on-one learning enviroment. Classroom learning often has the benefit of encouraging students to resolve obstacles or hurdles by direct teaching. This learning experience will be particularly useful as new apps or resources are launched.

Adobe Photoshop online training by teachers for students is the ideal solution for those with busy schedules who are unable to travel to a school classroom. Online seminars offer a hands-on approach to learning that could be of special interest to learners. They will help consumers to explore more of Adobe Photoshop’s functionality and resources for the first time. By learning how to create pathways for understanding which file format should be selected, online teachers can help beginners to quickly become Photoshop experts. Blue Sky Graphics provides credible online graphic design courses for Birmingham resident and UK wide residents from the comfort of their home.

At the end of the day, online tutorials such as those found in videos, digital texts, guided experiences, and FAQ pages can be used to learn Adobe Photoshop at a personal pace. Learning Adobe Photoshop through our Birmingham online courses and self-guided experiences are the ideal choice for students who enjoy overcoming challenges through their own intuition. Such methods are particularly valuable for students who wish to learn by trial and error, as well as for individuals who learn more by practical methods.

Organisations, groups and individuals with specific needs may also benefit from private Photoshop training, which may take place on-site or off-site. Such private training can be focused on a specific type of learning.

Formats of Photoshop file?

On average, a graphic designer will work 37-40 hours a week, but this is different from freelancers who can work flexibly on their own terms. There is generally some flexibility regarding start and finish times and putting in additional hours should be expected when campaigns deadlines are approaching.

Unless you are working from home the working environment is mostly studio based so expect lots of Macs, white spaces, large drawing tables and you may often find yourself working as part of a team. International travel is sometimes required to meet corporate clients.

What is Adobe InDesign!

Adobe InDesign

InDesign is an essential software for graphic designers and it is an industry-standard publishing software which easily allows users to essentially manipulate and create from scratch high-quality designs and prints across a full spectrum of digital and print multimedia.

InDesign is a digital software which means it works with computers and can be used for the development of posters, brochures, newsletters, journals, and books. Projects produced with InDesign can be exchanged both in visual and in print formats. InDesign is used by graphic designers, artists, writers and industry professionals. This software is produced and distributed by Adobe Systems and can be accessed independently or as part of the Adobe Creative Cloud. InDesign had previously been made available as part of the Creative Suite.

What is InDesign CC?

Adobe Creative Cloud

Adobe InDesign CC is part of the Creative Cloud, a collection of applications used for print, video and online design, marketing, and communications. Adobe InDesign CC is accessible on either Mac OS or Windows PCs. The CC implies that this software is part of the Internet Cloud. The current version of InDesign is the Design CC 2020.

InDesign CC provides access to additional tools for Adobe. Many of these services under the InDesign CC provide additional subscription facilities under which Adobe earns additional payments above and beyond the monthly license for CC applications. This includes Adobe Storage, which provides access to images for additional fees.

InDesign CC vs. InDesign CS?

Adobe Creative Cloud

Older versions of the app used the CS suffix, representing the Artistic Set. InDesign CC is a subscription-based service that needs a monthly or yearly charge, while InDesign CS became offered as a lifetime license that could be bought and used permanently for a one-time cost. Many of the same functionality required to function on projects can be seen in both the CC and CS versions of InDesign.

Although InDesign CS is no longer supported by Adobe Systems, it can still be used on many Mac OS and Windows computer projects. While InDesign CC might not have seen major updates after the Creative Suite versions, the related Adobe apps have been significantly updated. Customers subscribing to the complete Creative Cloud for other apps must need the InDesign CC because it is required. InDesign CC is beneficial for the usage of modern Windows operating systems.

Why use InDesign?

InDesign is used to create flyers, brochures, magazines, newspapers, posters, business cards, posters, stickers, comics, and many other types of documents or visual communications. It is primarily used for layout rather than as a content-creation tool, InDesign has is used to combine vectors, images and text with other prepared content into a completed product for publishing.

InDesign is considered the industry-standard for design publishing and is used by graphics and marketing professionals worldwide.

It can be used in combination with other software that is part of the Adobe Creative Cloud, including Illustrator and Photoshop, or can be used on its own. Images and illustrations are usually not created within InDesign, but rather layouts that use text, images, and drawings that are often built into other programs are assembled into an InDesign layout.

Working of Adobe InDesign

InDesign provides the resources needed to design websites and build multimedia interfaces that can be used on both print and interactive platforms.
InDesign provides a simplified way for users to create professional pages that can be published and distributed in print or online. At Blue Sky Graphics students learn to use InDesign in our Graphic Design Course coupled with others software, when used collaboratively, can produce magical graphic designs

InDesign is particularly useful for documents consisting of several columns, formats that incorporate text with images and documents containing large volumes of text.

InDesign Learning

There are a lot of ways to learn InDesign. These include hands-on classes, private training, books, and online tutorials. Live InDesign classes at Blue Sky Graphics in Birmingham provides a perfect place to practice alongside other experts and to ask qualified teachers questions in person during lessons and after learning on assignments. These live and direct InDesign classes often make it possible to raise concerns or help students having difficulty with different elements of InDesign that might be unique to an individual’s style.

Live training will also help you determine whether to go for a single device subscription or a full Creative Cloud subscription. InDesign planning may help to streamline the operation of businesses, improve profitability, and concentrate on specific kinds of industries that require specialist skills. Live online classes are an option for people who are unable to travel to a classroom location.

Online videos are another useful tool for studying how to use InDesign. These may be used on their own either in combination with InDesign courses live or online. The American Graphics Institute offers free online tutorials from professional InDesign instructors showing how to solve common problems and create layouts using InDesign. Books are another way to get to know InDesign. Books such as the InDesign Virtual Classroom make it easy for individuals to practice InDesign at their own speed and do not need an internet connection.

No matter how you continue your InDesign learning experience, practice is always the perfect way to learn new software. Experimenting in different technology and functionalities on a project that is not prone to time limits and quality criteria with a client or organisation can teach you until it is time to use InDesign professionally.

Adobe Illustrator

Adobe Creative Cloud

Adobe Illustrator is a software application for illustrations, paintings, and artwork on a Windows or MacOS computer. Illustrator was originally released in 1987 and continues to be updated on a regular basis and is now part of the Adobe Creative Cloud. Illustrator is widely used by graphic designers, web designers, visual artists and professional illustrators around the world to produce high-quality artwork. Illustrator includes a few sophisticated drawing tools that can reduce the time needed to create illustrations.

Illustrator is the industry-standard vector graphics software allows its users to draw through creating logos, icons, specialist drawings, typography and illustrations for various uses including digital, web and print as well as multimedia. We use Illustrator in our courses and coupled with others software when used collaboratively can produced magical graphic designs.

What is the CC Illustrator?

Adobe Creative Cloud

Illustrator CC is a version of Illustrator accessible from Creative Cloud, which is Adobe’s cloud-based software platform. The first edition of Illustrator CC was Illustrator v17, released in 2013. Since then, every version of Illustrator CC has commonly been renamed Illustrator CC xxxx, where “xxxx” is the year of printing.

The most significant developments in Illustrator CC involve the ability to synchronize and export documents to the cloud. Illustrator CC will also incorporate Balance, which artists use to display their work and portfolios. Illustrator CC also made enhancements to Illustrator font handling, including the ability to synchronize and change colour settings. Current Illustrator CC versions have featured the option to use touchscreen-compatible tools as well as to create and store custom brushes.

How is the Adobe Illustrator used?

Adobe Illustrator tends to be used in order to pri producing a broad selection of visual and printed pictures, including sketches, maps, graphs, icons, logos and illustrations. Illustrator helps the consumer to import an image and use it as a reference to track an item in a picture. This can be used to re-color or create a sketch-like appearance of an image. Illustrator also finds it possible to modify text in other respects, rendering Illustrator a valuable device for designing postcards, posters and other graphic templates that incorporate text and pictures. The ability of Illustrator to place text around a curve is especially useful for logo-creating artists. Illustrator is also used to render mock-ups that display what the project will appear like before it is finished, and to create icons used on smartphones or websites.

Illustrator, the Creative Cloud

Adobe Creative Cloud - Illustrator

Illustrator is equipped for Adobe Creative Cloud licenses and can also be purchased separately. As part of Illustrator’s Creative Cloud artwork, it can be combined with other Adobe Creative Cloud apps, including After Effects, InDesign, Photoshop and Premiere Pro. For e.g, users sometimes produce an initial artwork in Illustrator and then import the artwork to Photoshop or After Effects. Illustrator users can often create an illustration and export it to InDesign to be shown in a book or magazine. Users also export an Illustrator file to After Effects to construct an image animation. In the same way, artwork can be imported from Photoshop to Illustrator, where the final design can be mounted, mixing text, drawings, and the imported image.

Adobe Illustrator's Vector Graphics

One of the most important features of Adobe Illustrator is that the quality of the artwork created using Illustrator is independent of the resolution at which it is shown. This means that the picture created in Illustrator can be enlarged or reduced without losing the quality of the illustration. This is a vector artwork attribute that uses mathematical relations to describe lines, arcs, and other parts of the illustrator.
By comparison, photos edited with tools such as Adobe Photoshop are resolution-dependent, and the image quality decreases when the image is enlarged. Vector graphics are a set of polygons that make up an image that, in turn, consists of vectors. Each vector passes through a location known as a node or control point with a defined location on the x and y axes of the plane. This node determines the vector path that has different attributes, such as colour, curve, fill, shape and thickness. The position of the vectors can be interlinked by mathematical formulas, which precisely recalculate their position when the image is resized.

This vector graphics property is different from imaging software such as Photoshop, which uses pixel grids to render images. If this kind of picture is greatly scaled up, the individual pixels of a bit map become noticeable. This influence results in a loss of image focus known as pixilation, which makes Illustrator extremely successful in creating wide-ranging images, such as a billboard sign.

Conclusion

Adobe Creative Cloud is a compilation of important programs that are a must-have for graphic designers, interior designers, and fashion designers alike. They are of extreme importance and a basic requirement if you wish to pursue a field of graphic design or web design in the future.
