How Many Computers Can You Install Adobe Creative Cloud On?

So, in general, how many platforms will Adobe applications, including Creative Cloud (CC) and CS6, be installed on? The answer for individuals (as opposed to businesses) in most cases is two. The catch is that all machines must be used only by you, and the two programmes cannot be used concurrently. This policy was created so that you could use Creative Cloud (or Creative Suite) both at home on your desktop PC and when travelling on your laptop or tablet PC. However, the distinction between device models and their applications has become so blurred that you can simply choose any two devices you own, and the product can run and correctly activate on both.

Important Details – and Significant Differences from CC

As a result, the primary user can install a second copy on a secondary device for their own use, but the two installations cannot be used at the same time. Since Creative Suite and Adobe Acrobat standalone are licenced and delivered for use on a single platform, the two computers can run the same operating system (Windows or Mac).

However, all Creative Cloud members and single-app CC clients (including all £9.99 Photography Plan customers) can mount and run their tools on up to two computers running any operating system, including a Mac and a PC. Other Adobe products, including Photoshop Elements, are also offered multi-platform, making it easy to mix-and-match Windows and macOS with your two setups.

Another main advantage of Creative Cloud is that it does not use serial numbers as CS did; instead, you unlock CC by signing in with your Adobe ID, allowing you to handle your usage more flexibly. So, if you load the CC apps on a third device, it will ask you if you want to deactivate the other two automatically… Simply click “Continue” in the Maximum Activations Exceeded box, and it will perform the activation of your current device as well as the deactivation of the others for you. After that, you can reactivate one more system. This can be helpful if you are switching machines, if one of the previous devices failed, or if the device is otherwise unavailable.

How About for Use in Prior Versions?

Both Creative Cloud users can update and use new updates on the same devices instead of (or in addition to) the previous CC models.

For permanent Adobe software update versions: If you upgrade but choose to keep using the previous edition, Adobe licence terms require that the earlier product be installed on the same computer(s) as, the newer upgrade version.

Virtual Machine and Server Licensing

Importantly, Adobe describes a machine as “a simulated or physical device,” not just a CPU, implying that virtualization systems are included. The same is true of a dual-boot configuration with a product built on both partitions, such as Apple Boot Camp.

According to the guidelines outlined in this article, each virtual machine on which you install the app counts as a single product activation. However, this does not imply that the app should be mounted on a computer and downloaded by more than the number of approved seats bought.

The Creative Cloud currently has 21 desktop applications. In addition, there is a new desktop version of Adobe Aero (which is still completely free), as well as two new smartphone apps: the famous interactive drawing and painting app Fresco are now available on iPhone, and Illustrator is now available on iPad for the first time.

And, though it is not a new app, it is a fantastic resource: the company has launched the entirely new Adobe Stock Free Collection, which includes over 75,000 high-quality photographs, vectors, illustrations, designs, 3D models, and videos that are open to all for free and fully royalty-free.

If you want to check out all of the CC applications, just sign up for a free level of Creative Cloud membership. There are a plethora of online demo videos and also scores of entirely free books that you can download for all of the most popular applications to help you learn how to use the items better. And do not ignore that all CC items provide free continuing updates, so you will still be running the most up-to-date update.
System Requirements Have Changed

Furthermore, you should be aware that the minimum device specifications for both Windows and Mac have changed significantly in order to take advantage of the more recent operating system capabilities and technology.

The CC 2021 update now includes macOS 10.14 (Mojave) or older on Macs. If you do not already have a compatible version of macOS, you can get a free update to Mojave (10.14) or Catalina from Apple (10.15). However, be mindful that in Catalina, Apple has removed support for any older 32-bit programmes you might have. The latest macOS 11.0 is still endorsed, but there are several reported problems.
